The Northeastern Adirondacks is the region bordered by NY 9N, NY 73 and NY 86 to the south, NY 30 to the west as well as the blue line to the north plus Lake Champlain to the east.  The Champlain Area Trails aka CATS also maintain many trails in this region.  There are two of the ADK 46ers that are located in this region, Whiteface Mountain and Esther Mountain.

You'll find great hiking adventures in Hurricane Mountain Wilderness, Jay Mountain Wilderness, Split Rock Mountain Wild Forest, Chazy Highlands Wild Forest, Wilmington Wild Forest, Taylor Pond Wild Forest, Sentinel Range Wilderness, McKenzie Mountain Wilderness, Debar Mountain Wild Forest and Saranac Lakes Wild Forest.  Paul Smith's VIC is a very popular destination as well in this region.
