The 4625 acre Pharsalia Wildlife Management Area has wetlands, hiking trails, birdwatching, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, hunting, fishing and trapping available for those seeking outdoor recreation.  A section of the Finger Lakes Trail travels through this popular place.  Utilizing the FLT and the numerous seasonal roads that are located in the WMA, there are numerous loop hikes available.

This WMA is located in the Town of Pharsalia, about 10 miles northwest of Norwich and 10 miles southwest of Sherburne. NY 23 borders part of the west and south sides of the area and provides access to a system of town and maintenance roads traversing the area.

DIRECTIONS:  From South Otselic, take NY 26 South, turn left of County Route 42.  At the sign for Pharsalia WMA turn left.  This is Johnson Street.  The Finger Lakes Trail crosses a little over a half of a mile down this seasonal dirt road.  There is better parking/road on Stage Rd.  Stage Road is paved.  See the Map of the Finger Lakes Trail for other access points within this WMA.
