NOTE:  This information is based from the information gathered from the DEC plan available at the DEC website.  The info below is for just part of what will be the North Country Trail in the Adirondacks.

The Hudson Gorge Primitive Area encompasses approximately 17,200 acres of State Forest Preserve in Essex and Hamilton Counties. It is located north of NY 28 between the hamlets of Indian Lake and North River, near the center of the Adirondack Park. The DEC changed it's original plan to have the future NCT travel through this scenic area. The NCT will not travel through this area.
