Camping in Adirondack Park Southwestern Adirondacks Caroga Lake
|
The very popular Caroga Lake Campground is located just over the southern Adirondack Park boundary off NY 29A near its junction with NY 10. There are 161 campsites available with a sandy beach and many hiking trails located near by in Ferris Lake Wild Forest and Shaker Mountain Wild Forest. This campground is located on East Caroga Lake.
The most popular hiking destination from Caroga Lake Campground is a hike to the fire tower on Kane Mountain. Other great hikes in the area include Nine Corner Lake, Broomstick Lake, Jockeybush Lake and Chase Lake. We also suggest taking a drive on Powley-Piseco Road and try some of the short hikes off the road. DEC campgrounds accept the Empire Passport for those who want to enter to use the day use facilities. It's not just for state parks! To get more info on this campground including reservations see the NY DEC Website.
