Located in the Lake George area, but far enough away from the hustle and bustle of the resort area is Luzerne Campground. The 174 site campground is located off NY 9N on Fourth Lake, north of the small hamlet of Lake Luzerne and southwest of the village of Lake George. It offers a much quieter setting compared to Lake George Battlefield and Hearthstone Point Campgrounds. The campground features a picnic area and a swimming beach.

 Although most of the hiking trails in this area are found in the busy Lake George area, you can find some solitude at Hadley Mountain, which is located close to Luzerne Campground.  You'll also find two waterfalls along the Hudson River that are relatively close by, just to the south of the campground. Rockwell Falls is in Lake Luzerne and can be viewed from the Bridge Street (County Route 4) bridge over the Hudson River. Palmer Falls is in Corinth and are accessed via a 0.3 mile hiking trail.
