Roanoke Mountain Campground on the Blue Ridge Parkway along the Mill Mountain Spur Road (milepost 120.4) was closed in 2013 and will be open for day use only in 2014. The campground does not look like it will be reopening.

There is a nature trail located in the campground plus the very popular Chestnut Ridge Trail that loops around the campground. The day use area is open for access to the hiking trails.
