Hiking in Adirondack Park West Central Adirondacks Moose River Plains Wild Forest Seventh Lake Trail
|
The Seventh Lake Trail follows along the north shore of Seventh Lake. It is a scenic trail that is somewhat difficult to get to as the west end of the trail has no parking and the east end at Arnold's Rock requires a 1.8 mile hike along other trails to reach. It's worth the hike to enjoy the pleasant walk along the shore of Seventh Lake.
The main attraction of the trail is at the eastern end of the trail, a large rock called Arnold's Rock. There is a large cleared area near Arnold's Rock perfect for camping right near the north shore of Seventh Lake. There are also two lean to's to the west of Arnold's Rock that you can explore or camp at.
The best way to reach the Seventh Lake Trail is via Eighth Lake Campground along the Uncas Trail for 0.9 miles, then left on the Arnold's Rock Trail for another 0.9 miles to Arnold's Rock and the east end of Seventh Lake Trail. Look below for a map of the Seventh Lake Trail and other trails in the area.
