Located near Saranac Lake and Tupper Lake off NY 30, inside of Fish Creek Campground is where you'll find Rollins Pond Campground's entrance. Both campgrounds are a kayakers paradise with many lakes and ponds located nearby. Many of the campsites are waterfront, adding to the popularity of this large campground with 287 campsites available.

It is common to have well over 1,000 or more people camping in both these campgrounds during holiday weekends and weeks in the summer. The 355 site Fish Creek Pond Campground makes this a very large complex of campsites. Don't plan on being alone here. It is a scenic place, but is very crowded and busy. Rollins Pond Campground is usually open a week before Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day. Fish Creek Pond Campground is open earlier and much later in the season.

Although this campground is popular with kayakers, it is popular with bikers as well and you will see families biking throughout the two campgrounds. With the proximity of the High Peaks Wilderness, these two campgrounds are popular with hikers. The popular Floodwood Loop Trail is located on the campground as well as the Otter Hollow Loop Trail. Popular hiking destinations outside of the campground include Ampersand Mountain, Floodwood Mountain, the fire tower at St Regis Mountain and Baker Mountain. We suggest checking out Coney Mountain located along NY 30 south of Tupper Lake. It is the perfect family hike to a bare summit with spectacular views.

DEC campgrounds accept the Empire Passport for those who want to enter to use the day use facilities. It's not just for state parks! A picnic area and a swimming beach are available for day use visitors at this campground. To get more info on this campground including reservations see the NY DEC Website.
