State Waterfalls Waterfalls in the Adirondacks Palmer Falls
|
The 70 foot Palmer Falls, located on the Hudson River near Corinth is a perfect example of what can happen to a scenic waterfall if the area becomes too industrial. As you can see from the panorama above, most of the time you shouldn't expect to see any waterfall. There is a 0.3 mile trail that leads to an overlook and another nature trail that we decided not to explore after the disappointment of no falls.
The area and nature trails are owned by Curtis/Palmer Hydroelectric Company. The trails are only open from Memorial Day to Labor Day. A small parking area is located on County Route 32, northeast of Corinth. The GPS coordinates are N43 15.435 W73 49.063 for those who have a GPS devise. We are unsure when the best time to visit this "waterfall" in the summer. Look below for a couple of pictures and a map.
