Muller Hill State Forest

Muller Pond
Louis Muller Home Site

Muller Pond is located in the remote Muller Hill State Forest. Along the short trail to the pond is the historical site of the home of Louis A. Muller, a French noblemen who settled here in 1808 when he fled France during the wrath of Napoleon. He was a mysterious person who ended up selling the property and went back to France after the end of Napoleon's reign. Not much remains of the home, just a hole where it once stood.

A short 0.25 mile trail takes you past the old home site on the way to the scenic remote pond. This wide stone crushed trail can be enjoyed by everyone in your family. The large boulders near the shoreline of the pond look to be a great place to enjoy a picnic. Since the trail is so short and easy, you could bring a kayak to explore this pretty pond. The Louis Muller Home Site is located on the right about halfway to the pond.

The parking area and kiosk for Muller Pond is located off the dirt Muller Hill Road (seasonal road) within Muller Hill State Forest in Madison County. The GPS coordinates for the parking area is N42 46.153 W75 46.807. There are some pictures and a trail map below.
