This short 2.3 mile section of the Finger Lakes Trail begins off Basswood Road near County Route 32 and follows a farm lane toward Bear Brook.  This section of the FLT is very scenic as you travel near the brook and your even rewarded by a beautiful waterfall.  This is a moderate section of trail with a gradual ascent along the brook and a final climb toward Basswood Road.

The trail eventually veers away from Bear Brook and ascends back to Basswood Road.  There is an amazing view as you approach Basswood Road.  This whole section of the trail is on PRIVATE PROPERTY.  There are some stiles to cross.  Parking is the most difficult part of this section of the trail.

Directions:  From Oxford, NY take County Route 32 south out of town, then a right on Basswood Road.  The trail turns right off the road up a farm lane however, there is limited parking further down the road.  Please park off the pavement.
