Yatesville Falls State Forest is located in Montgomery County in the towns of Charleston, Glen and Root. The state forest is located close to Rural Grove State Forest. There are over 2000 acres of state land between the two state forests. The main feature in Yatesville Falls State Forest is a 30 foot waterfall sometimes referred to as Buttermilk Falls.

The waterfall is easily accessed via the forest access road off Anderson Road, which is off County Route 106, which is off NY 162 in the small hamlet of Rural Grove. The waterfall tends to be dry or barely flowing, so you'll want to visit these falls after a good rain. The access road is a dirt road that regular cars should be able to drive on as long you are careful and is not plowed in the winter.

The waterfall is located near the end of the access road. When I visited the falls on Memorial Day 2015 with Kyra and my brother in law, the falls were only dripping. There was a couple RV camping along the side of the road, near the waterfall. The GPS coordinates of the start of the forest access road at Anderson Road is N42 52.454 W74 26.035.
