Wintergreen Park is a small village park located near the village of Canajoharie in Central New York. The park features the spectacular Canajoharie Creek Gorge and the 40 foot Wintergreen Falls. The 0.75 mile Scenic Trail easily takes hikers from the upper parking area to a large wooden observation take that overlooks the waterfall.

The waterfall is somewhat obscured from the observation deck when there are leaves on the trees (May 2015), so until some of the trees are removed to bring back the full view of the falls we recommend using the Scenic Trail when the leafs are off the trees. You can watch a video below that features the Scenic Trail and the view from the observation deck.

The park has a picnic area and restrooms. Look below for directions, a few pictures, a few maps and a video.

Directions from Syracuse, NY: Take I-90 East to Exit 29 Canajoharie. Turn right on NY 5S West and then left on NY 10 South. In the village of Canajoharie, turn left on Montgomery Street and then a right on Maple Avenue. Maple Avenue will turn into Carlisle Road. Veer straight onto Old Sharon Road and soon you'll reach the main entrance to Wintergreen Park on your right. Park in the upper parking area if you are interested in the Scenic Trail. The GPS coordinates of the upper parking area is N42 53.134 W74 33.801. The lower parking area has the picnic area and restrooms.
