Located southeast of Skaneateles, between Spafford and Otisco, this county forest has 701 acres of undeveloped wilderness for challenging hiking and outdoor exploration.  There are no trail markings and most of the trails are old jeep trails that are still being used by 4x4 vehicles.  There is an old hang glider spot on the eastern edge of the forest with a nice view of the valley that is worth a visit (there are "no trespassing" signs on each side of the jeep trail on your way, but we're pretty sure the old hang glider spot is located in the county forest property).

There is a map below that has some of the jeep trails listed.  You can easily create your own hiking adventure.  I have also included a map to hike to the hang glider view.  It is a 0.5 mile walk to the hang glider spot with an elevation change of 100 feet.  The start of the hike is somewhat steep.  The trails can be muddy from all the 4x4 action.  The "traffic circle" is where four jeep trails meet around a tree.  This is a great place to practice your mapping and gps skills.  Moon Hill Forest (Burke Parcel) is close by.

Directions:  Coldbrook Road to Craig Rd.  There is a small parking area on the right as the road bends.
