This whole section of trail is on private property.  It is due to the generosity of these landowners that hikers are able to enjoy this great section of trail.  Please respect the rights of the landowners and stay on the trail. 

This section of the NCT coincides with the Onondaga Trail.  The Onondaga Trail is maintained by the Onondaga Chapter of the Adirondack Mountain Club.  This hiking club has added many miles to the Onondaga Trail over the last few years, bringing the current total to 40.9 miles.  You can help support this trail by purchasing official Onondaga Trail maps from the Finger Lakes Trail Conference.

This out and back hike is a total of 3.2 miles (1.6 miles one way) with an elevation change of over 500 feet.  From the parking area the trail ascends over 500 feet up Kinney Hill, with views from an abandoned ski slope.  At the top of the hill there is a stile that will take you 150 feet to fantastic views.

From there the trail winds toward Armstrong Pond.  This scenic pond located on private property has the look of ponds from the Adirondacks.  It's hard to believe that your hiking near New Woodstock, NY.

Directions:  From Fabius take NY 80 EAST into New Woodstock.  Turn right onto School Street, then turn right onto Webber Road.  There is a small parking area for the North Country Trail on the left.
