Mount Arab has been a very popular and accessible hiking destination for generations because of the spectacular views from the fire tower. You can view Tupper Lake and Mount Morris to the southeast, the High Peaks to the east, The Raquette River valley to the north, Horseshoe Lake Wild Forest to the southwest, and Mt Arab Lake and Eagle Crag Lake to the west.

The Mount Arab Fire Tower is a 35 Foot structure with a metal cabin on top. It was built in 1918, replacing a wooden tower that opened in 1911.  This fire tower is located on the 2545 foot summit of Mount Arab in the Adirondack Region.  The hike is about one mile to the summit with an elevation gain of 700+ feet.

Mount Arab is located about three miles west of Tupper Lake on NY 3. Near the town of Piercefield, turn left on the Conifer Road (County Route 62) and then left on Mount Arab Road.  Mount Arab is part of the ADK Fire Tower Challenge.
