The 61 acre Island Cottage Woods Preserve is located NW of Rochester, NY. The area is owned by the Genesee Land Trust. A short trail passes through the woods and takes hikers to the edge of a wetland. The area is located to the east of the 2125 acre Braddock Bay Wildlife Management Area. The dead end of Old Island Cottage Road is used as a parking area.

A loop trail starts at the guardrail that marks the end of Old Island Cottage Road. The trails feature several boarwalk sections and have benches to take a break on. You'll get a few glimpses of the cattail wetlands of Round Pound. There is an extension trail that travels along the edge of the Round Pond marsh and ends at privately owned property.

The GPS coordinates of the parking area at the end of Old Island Cottage Road is N43 16.440 W77 39.604. Look below for a map from the kiosk and a picture. You can find a featured hike in this park in the recommended book Best Easy Day Hikes Rochester, New York.
