Enjoy over 50 miles of trails on 2729 acres at Highland Forest
County Park, which is sometimes called the "Adirondacks of Central New York".
Established in the 1930's, this is the oldest Onondaga County Park
and contains more than 2000 acres of rugged forest terrain. The park
offers free
maps available at Skyline Lodge. We have posted a map below or check out a pdf version of the map from the
county park website. An updated map from the county website was posted
in October 2010.
The self-guided Nature Trail is the perfect
introductory hike. The park also has over four miles of the North Country
National Scenic Trail that travels through park. All the park trails are
well marked and maintained. Try out our very own 4.2 mile Arab Hill Loop that utilizes part of the NCT.
For those looking for a more challenging hike, then
try out the nearly nine mile main park trail loop. Just be sure to pack
plenty of water and snacks, plus plan on giving yourself at least five hours to
complete the long, strenuous hike. Share
