This 4.2 mile section of the Finger Lakes Trail / North Country Trail runs from the corner of NY 240 and Fancy Tract Road which is northeast of Ellicottville to NY 242, west of Boyce Hill State Forest. This section of the trail is partly on private property as well as property donated to the FLTC and travels along the side of Canada Hill.
This moderate section of hiking has an overall elevation gain of over 700 feet. Please respect landowners rights and stay on the trail. There is a camping area in this section of the trail, just 0.25 miles off the main trail along the blue blazed Cobb Trail. The trail between NY 242 and Fancy Tract Road is closed for hunting from mid Nov to Mid Dec. Please stay off the trail during this time. See below for more information.
Look below for a map and trail description of this section of the trail. Part of this section of the Finger Lakes Trail /North Country Trail is also part of the Conservation Trail. The Conservation Trail leaves the FLT/NCT during this section to continue its journey to Niagara Falls and Canada to meet the Bruce Trail.

Junction ahead of blue blazed Cobb Trail just prior to bridge over Devereaux Brook. Soon cross active railroad tracks.
