Chickadee Hollow Loop

DIRECTIONS: US 20 East, take a right on Apulia Rd. Turn left on NY 80 East, then turn right on NY 91 South. Next turn left on NY 13 North, then a left on Morgan Hill Rd. Drive up Morgan Hill Rd, soon the road becomes gravel and onto the State Land (Morgan Hill State Forest). This is where the road becomes a seasonal dirt road (but drivable). Pass under power lines and begin to go down hill, then pass a dirt road on your right. The next road on your right is Chickadee Hollow Rd (no signs). Park along the side of this road (leaving room for cars to pass).

NOTES: A great loop hike in Morgan Hill State Forest. Be sure to follow the blue blazes carefully while on the North Country Trail. There are numerous turns along the trail and numerous old dirt roads. There is a 410 foot elevation change for this 3.8 mile loop hike.

There was some logging done in the summer/fall of 2009 near & along the trail that did cause some damage along the North Country Trail. However the trail is still available to hike in this area. 1.15	1926 ft	Reach the crossing of the North Country Trail. Turn right on the NCT and follow the blue blazes.
1.3	1977 ft	Junction of a white blazed spur trail that leads 0.1 mile to a camping area.
1.4	1991 ft	Highest point of the North Country Trail in Morgan Hill State Forest.
2.5	1872 ft	Cross under power lines.
3.2	1879 ft	Reach Chickadee Hollow Rd and turn right following dirt road.
3.5	1851 ft	Cross under power lines.
3.8	1737 ft	Reach Morgan Hill Road and the end of this loop hike.
