A pleasant hike along a scenic stream in beautiful Bully Hill State Forest makes this 1.5 mile section of the North Country National Scenic Trail as one of the best sections of the trail in all of New York.  The overall elevation gain of this easy to moderate hike is just over 400 feet.  This round trip hike is a total of just over three miles.

From Bully Hill Road, the trail immediately makes its way toward the stream you'll follow most of the way for this hike.  There are a couple of small stream crossings.  The sounds of the stream seem to relax you as you hike.  For those interested in seeing remnants from the past, you'll enjoy the numerous stone walls, piles of stones and other evidence from the farms that once called this area home.

When you reach the seasonal dirt Karr Road after 1.5 miles of hiking, simply turn around and return to your vehicle for a round trip hike of just over three miles.  So go out and take a pleasant walk along a stream on one of the best sections of the North Country Trail in New York.

Directions:  From Hornell take I-86 West to exit 33 for NY 21 Almond.  Turn left off the exit onto County Route 2 aka Karr Valley Road.  Turn right on Bully Hill Road.  There is parking along the shoulder of the road or a small parking area across from a home.
