This pleasant 1.9 mile easy loop hike starts at the NY 80 parking area.  There is an elevation gain of only 140 feet for this entire hike, making it suitable for all members of your family.  This hike features a couple of lean tos, a boardwalk, numerous bridges, a nice view of the Chenango River plus a scenic pond.  No dogs are allowed on the trails at the Rogers Center.

From the parking area, walk past the kiosk and follow the trail down hill.  Soon the trail merges with a trail coming in from the right (heads up to a gate near NY 80).  The trail becomes a mowed path and at 0.2 miles reach a split.  Turn/veer right going into the woods and soon pass two lean tos.

At 0.4 miles cross a footbridge and then walk along a boardwalk in a boggy area.  At 0.5 miles there is a bench on your right and soon after another.  At 0.65 miles cross a stream on a bridge, then reach the end of the Woods Trail.  Turn left and then a quick right onto the River Trail.

At 0.75 cross a stream on a bridge.  The trail is again a mowed path in the open.  Be careful to stay on the main mowed path as there are other mowed paths off to the left.  At 1.0 miles reach the banks of the Chenango River.  At 1.1 miles cross a wet area on a bridge, then reach a bench.  The trail continues through a "green tunnel" and soon follows the state land boundary in the woods.

At 1.3 miles leave the woods and reach a dirt road with scenic ponds bordering the roads.  Follow the dirt road that divides the ponds.  The dirt road with stop gate heads back toward the end of the Woods Trail/River Trail, where you already were.  Walk along the dirt road dividing the ponds and enjoy the scenic views of the ponds.

At 1.4 miles a trail leaves on the left.  Continue straight on the dirt road.  At 1.45 miles turn left and pass a yellow stop gate.  Now walking along an old woods road.  Soon the trail borders an open field.  At 1.7 miles reach the "split" and turn right following the mowed path you came down on earlier.

Your now climbing back toward the parking area on NY 80.  Remember to turn right off the mowed path after you see the gate ahead and take the trail back to the parking area plus the end of this hike.  Below we have a map of the hike we did on topo, you can get a map from the DEC website by following the link Adams Farm Trail Map (333 KB, PDF)
